Pick your national team and you instantly find out whether it is the reigning football World Cup champion. The answer is YES for exactly one country: the team that won the most recent World Cup final. Every other team gets NOT YET.

Who is the current World Cup champion?

Argentina are the current FIFA World Cup champions. They won the most recent final and hold the title until the next World Cup final is played.

When does the answer change?

The moment the 2026 World Cup final ends on 19 July 2026. The site checks the official result automatically and flips to the new champion, so it is always up to date without anyone editing it.

Why does it say "NOT YET" instead of "NO"?

Because every nation is one tournament away from glory. "Not yet" is the honest answer, and a more hopeful one — as long as your team is still in the running.

My team is out of the World Cup. Does that change the answer?

Yes. Once your team is eliminated from the 2026 World Cup the answer turns from a hopeful "not yet" into a blunt "NO". You will have to wait for the next World Cup. Next time, maybe.
